Almost 2 months after I placed the order. Apple has twice delayed the ship-date, so now they are telling me it won't even leave the factory in Shanghai until 14 December. I was promised a replacement on priority status. It seems the noise comes from the CPU fan (a loud humming noise).

After getting the machine out of the box noticed cracked glass - starting in the lower left corner, running across the entire screen to the upper right (about 4.5" from the right corner) and down. No dents or signs of any sort of abusive treatment. Showed up with cracked glass in the lower left corner.
